Building resilience is more than teaching character education; it is setting a foundation which will allow character education curricula to be built upon. This workshop will give an overview of the research behind resilience and the role it plays in education. Participants will leave with strategies of how to build resilience in their classrooms and throughout the campus.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Define resiliency and reflect on current practices that either help or hinder resilience.
  • Develop an understanding that resiliency is a process, not a trait and it can be built and strengthened within a school.
  • Understand external and internal protective factors that promote resiliency and be able to apply them to strengthen youth's development of resilience.
  • Identify strategies to build resiliency within students.

The train-the-trainer session is ideal for school-based leadership teams. Participants will learn the content and be equipped with strategies and resources to train others.

Cost: Free

Please note participants will be notified by email with any workshop updates.
