Have you ever tried to change a youth’s behavior? Have you given advice only to have it ignored? Have you watched a child want to change but not know how? Have you designed interventions and behavior plans only to have them fail?

Motivational Interviewing has been used for over 30 years in therapeutic settings, but is now being used by educators to help youth through the change process.  This course is an introduction to the Motivational Interviewing process.

You will learn how to guide youth through the change process through effective conversations where youth talk themselves into change based on their own values and interests, and ultimately their own desire to change.  Since people are more likely to be persuaded by what they hear themselves say, this is an effective and evidence based method of getting youth to make changes for themselves.

The train-the-trainer session is ideal for school-based leadership teams. Participants will learn the content and be equipped with strategies and resources to train others.

    Cost: Free

Please note participants will be notified by email with any workshop updates.
